Building An Online Instruction Ecosystem - For One College or Many
Taking classes online has grown tremendously popular with students around the world. Offering courses asynchronously provides students with options for pursuing their education that traditional, synchronous, campus-based programs cannot provide. Particularly for working students and those with families, an online instruction program may be their only opportunity to gain a college education. However, developing a successful online program is complex and requires a host of support services for students and faculty. This master class will highlight the success of the California Community Colleges Online Education Initiative and present in depth the components that have been developed to support 860,000 students taking over 60,000 online courses annually.
