We invite students, IT and data specialists to take part in a large-scale online data hackathon held by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and its Singaporean partners. It is a part of the second phase of the ASI World AI & Data Challenge.
You will have 48 hours to come up with digital solutions for the most pressing global issues from the comfort of your couch.
This February the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the World Bank launched the World AI & Data Challenge
, an international contest addressing global socio-economic issues using Big Data processing and artificial intelligence technologies.
What are the stages of the World AI & Data Challenge?
First stage - Tasks Contest (February-May 2020)
Second stage - Solution Contest (June - 31 August 2020)
Third stage - Implementation Contest (September 2020 - February 2021)
During the data hackathon you will have the opportunity to apply your hard skills in AI & Data to solve 8 international tasks from Singapore, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Participants can solve tasks either on their own or by teaming up. The developed solutions can be finalized even after the event until August 31.
The prize fund of the competition starts at US$20,000.

13:30-14:30 Welcome Address from
team leaders, introduction of experts and moderators + setting the FutureSkills
15:30-16:00 Teams go to their rooms,
moderators show how participants should work in padlet
16:00-17:00 Examination of the
tasks, identifying tasks to be solved (participants put the name of the team
and task on the padlet dashboard)
17:00-20:00 Teams develop solutions
in their rooms (organizers can be called to answer questions about the tasks)
20:00-21:00 Internal hypothesis
defence in the rooms, feedback from solution hypothesis experts
21:00-21:15 EXPERT DISCUSSION IN THE
21:15-22:15 Final defense of the
best hypotheses according to experts.
22:15 until the end Independent
development of solutions for tasks.
2nd day 19.08 SGT Time Zone
