Он будет охватывать ПИИ, международные переговоры, основные вопросы составления контрактов, посредничества и международного арбитража (коммерческие и инвестиционные). Курс будет преподаваться с практической точки зрения, охватывая различные вопросы, с которыми ежедневно сталкиваются международные юристы. Мы подробно рассмотрим дело ЮКОСа, поскольку оно имеет особое значение для российских юристов.

This brief course will be devoted to the international dispute settlement. It will cover the FDI, international negotiations, main issues in contract drafting, mediation and international arbitration (commercial and investment). The course will be taught from a practical point of view, covering various issues that international legal practitioners face on a daily basis. We will take an in-depth look at the Yukos case as it has a special relevance for Russian jurists. The course will be taught in English. All materials will be provided electronically.

Katerina Plokhenko, Esq. is an American lawyer with extensive experience in international transactional law and dispute resolution. She holds a Specialist degree in International Relations from NSUEM, an LLM in International Dispute Settlement from the MIDS (a joint program of the University of Geneva School of Law and the Institute of International and Developmental Studies) and a Juris Doctor with concentration in International Law from the Suffolk University Law School. She attended Harvard Law School and International Academy for Arbitration Law in Paris.

Katerina has developed her legal practice in a wide variety of settings, including British and American law firms, American NFP, as well as American finance and publishing company. Throughout her career she has practiced in the US, France, Switzerland and Russia. She regularly advises clients on the best way to structure their foreign investments, conducts complex negotiations and creates necessary contractual framework, assists with tax planning and international dispute settlements. She also handles a myriad of issues related to the US trade and sanctions.

Katerina has presented at international legal conferences and published a number of articles on various topics related to international relations and dispute resolution. She has developed a study course on international investments, tax and dispute settlement for Russian universities. She is fluent in English and French and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
